THE OVAL WELTSCHMERZ

was at The Oval last night and the ball was swinging for me. Bowled one inswinging yorker, a corker that swung right across from outside leg to outside off stump. Strangely they're's no atmosphere of any kind in The Oval's indoor centre. Must be in the action. I took a longer run up than usual, sprinted in, then hurled a rock. You gather momentum with the run up, otherwise all the momentum's in the arm. Thus you have to have a hell of an arm to bowl 60 mph off a few paces. I thought I couldn't run but I was fine and the burn off is terrific. If I can bowl medium pace swing then that's definitely another important string to my bow.
